Estimates for Italy travel suggestions / help? I'm headed to Italy in September and need a round figure of how much I need to bring for the trip. Here is what I got so far:
-600 For Canadian accommodation (11 nights). This will be enough as I am splitting a room with a friend.
-400 Euros for food and snacks for 11 days.
-200 Euros for transport. Will take the train from Milan to Venice, Florence, Venice, Florence Genga, Genga Bomarzo, Bomarzo Naples, Pompeii, Naples, Pompei in Rome.
What I really need help is how much I should budget for all the "attractions". I plan to go to all the hot spots in Venice, Florence and Rome and the Museum of Naples and Pompeii. I'm headed to the caves to Frasassi Genga, and Park Bomarzo.
Therefore, tips and / or input?
Also, I'm not sure what would be the best way to access any funds in Italy. Should I have traveler's checks, use a debit / credit, or carry cash?
Thank you!
I just moved to Milan and have been here a little over a week. Everything is more expensive here. For me and my daughter to have two slices of pizza, a bottle of water and a coke. It costs 9 euros. And this was one of the cheaper pizza.
At another place for my husband, myself and daughter to have 3 slices of pizza, two bottles of water, a coke and a beer costs 26 euros. It was really too expensive for me.
When we visited the cathedral, we found ourselves at a Burger King, lol, and that the cost of 20 euros for the three of us. whopper meal, a chicken sandwich meal and a kids menu.
Everything costs more here. the euro is worth more than the U.S. dollar, even the Canadian dollar. So I would put much more money with you. I did not even mention the shopping. lol.
The coffee price is quite interesting though. I took my daughter to a Gelatiera, and ice cream shoppe, she had a little ice and I had a cappuccino, and it only costs 3 euros.
yeah good joib
