Camp Kitchen

Posted on November 28, 2010.
I am one day help young camp-4, and I am in charge of meals. Anyone have any ideas?

I have some meals in mind, but as I usually do not plan my meals ahead of time (I cook what I want to have) I need help finding meal ideas. The camp has a full kitchen, and there will be about 15 people in total. I should be able to offer something of myself, but I want ideas about what will appeal to teenagers. I've never cooked for college camps

(1) Tacos for sure - very easy - you can even just put the ingredients and allow children to take.

(2) Wraps are similar to this - just use the tortillas and let the kids put in their favorite combinations: nuts, peanut butter, ham, turkey, apple slices, salad, ranch dressing, etc.

(3) Kids love grilled cheese - and here's a plug on the following:

Lasagna Grilled Sandwiches:

For each sandwich, you need two slices of bacon or ham and two slices of mozzarella or Swiss cheese. Spread sour cream and tomato sauce over bread and sprinkle with a little
oregano for flavoring. fry bacon or ham and put it between two slices of bread prepared. Butter the outside of the
bread, fry and eat.

(4) Shish-Kabobs - it would be fun to have a night to cook and the ingredients - such as onions, pineapple, slices of hot dogs, beef cubes - helping children set up their own "bobs" and another handful of leading cooking. Children love doing things for themselves!

(5) I found a site too flashy than the recommended cooking - I found a really great idea for kids to make their own "leaf meal" grill (such as answering, sliced potatoes, etc. ) - similar to the shish-kebab idea.

Have fun and good luck!
