Travelling in Tasmania with camper? Hello guys, I thought of traveling with my family (4 of us) in a campervan Launcheston in Hobart for about 6-7 days ... I wonder if it's a good way to travel Tasmania with a motorhome? Any recommendations? If yes, are there companies motorhome cheap and good rental as well as caravan parks motorhome /? Thank you!
DP G'day!
I'd forget about motorhome because they are very expensive to hire and if the weather is bad ... you freeze!
Driving around Tasmania for that holiday.
In fact, I recently spent 2 weeks doing exactly the same!
I started from and returned to Launceston, taking in Swansea, Hobart, Port Arthur, Richmond, Strahan and Cradle Mountain as breakpoints.
There are lots of good hotels, motels, B & B, that meet all budgets.
I also recommend including Bicheno, Coles Bay and Lake St. Clair.
We drove south of Launceston, turned east and crossed Avoca St Mary's before heading south to Bicheno, Swansea etc. before arriving in Hobart Sorrell and finally ... it's a beautiful car ... many forests and beaches to consider as well!
If you can not make the drive from Launceston to Hobart, I recommend the following - Launceston, Bicheno, Coles Bay, Swansea, Port Arthur and Hobart.
In Launceston Cataract Gorge do and get on a cruise on the River Tamar. You can also enjoy the City Park.
Bicheno is a beautiful coastal city, Coles Bay lies near the famous Wineglass Bay, Swansea is another beautiful coastal city. You could probably stay of 2 nights at Bicheno and do things in the general area before approaching the drive through Port Arthur.
PA is about 90 minutes south of Hobart, but well worth the effort to get there. You can view the vents over the PA historic site itself ... will have a full day to do it properly!
I then spend a final day in Hobart ... try to time markets and also in Salamanca Cadbury Chocolate Factory tour and climb Mt Wellington for a wonderful scenic view.
Pile driving can be a chore at times like most of the brochures show time about 100 km / h average speed on the base ... you can not physically reach. Some roads are incredibly narrow to allow plenty of time to reach your destination and drive to the weather.
I hope you have a great trip!
Cheers:)
Hello
I just spent two weeks in Tasmania. It was a good time. We rented a motorhome <a href = "http://www.tasmaniacampe ... and I saw all of Tasmania. If you're planning a trip, remember to check the Gordon River Cruises Flag Video
I sometimes think that every second vehicle on the roads of Tasmania is a motorhome. This is a very popular and convenient to see the status. It seems expensive on the surface, but considering all the motel bills you do not pay it works OK. There are many caravan parks, each town and village has at least one. There are some companies hire campervans, I google "motorhome hire Tasmania" and compare prices.
It takes about 2 or 3 hours to travel from Launceston to Hobart, so I suggest you make a few detours! You can probably see all the main attractions of this period.
I recently traveled from Hobart to Launceston, but rented a car and moteled. A camper may be cold unless you strike good weather. we traveled the east coast and has 7 days. 2 being in Hobart we liked 2 of the time in Launceston, which gave us time to visit the gorge and a Swiss village, on our drive to Ocean Beauty, the other days of travel.
