Deep CreekPosted on January 2, 2011. A Day in Deep Creek Hot Springs
Those with a slight increase which may last about 45 minutes, Deep Creek Hot Springs is a perfect place to be. Deep Creek Hot Springs is located south of the city of Hesperia is located on federal lands in the San Bernardino National Forest. The hot pools are located in some fascinating rocky outcrops where the creek makes a sharp turn towards the end of a ridge. The hot spring water is clear and non-sulfurous smell. Leaving the soil temperature exceeds 100 degrees where it then passes in seven artificial ponds dip a creek adjacent annual flow. To reach Deep Creek Hot Springs Greater Los Angeles, take Highway 15 north to Hesperia. Bear Valley Road exit and travel east for about 10 miles from the main road. Turn right on Central and drive 3 miles south of Ocotillo Way and turn left. Then go 2.3 miles to Bowen Ranch Road. Turn right (south) and continue another 6 miles to Bowen Ranch. Bowen Ranch is private land that lies directly north of the shorter runway National Forest (1.1 miles long) to the hot springs. There is an entrance fee to pay and a short drive to a parking lot. A photocopy of a map of Deep Creek is also provided. The car park you will reach the national forest trailhead Hot Springs after a hike of half a mile with a drop of 160 feet. The National Forest trailhead starts at an altitude of about 4220 feet desert. During a 1.1 mile hike, it descends to an altitude of 3720 feet. At this point, you're about 700 meters from the hot spring, but you're standing atop the end of a ridge overlooking 200 feet of your destination. Hence, most hikers choose to take the steep road, sand, and rolling line. However, if you want a safer route, you can follow a trail on the western slope of the ridge, but the distance is about double. If you're in the weird kind of adventure, many enjoy this ride wearing their birthday suits - that is, completely naked. Not only is allowed, but by custom hikers do, but of course there are those who do not have that much courage and luck you can meet some of them and that includes myself. On the way to the sources, you will cross scrub brushes, so if you plan to hike naked attention to low hanging fruits can obtain attentionJ not welcome. Be sure to wear sunscreen or not to do in the summer. Near the sources of the brush becomes shady trees and green vegetation along the creek. The hot springs are located on the opposite side of the creek off the cold, which is several feet thick. After wading through the cold stream, which can be very cold, allow a few minutes for your body to recover before the cool dip in the hot spring to avoid thermal shock. The water is so relaxing and said to be therapeutic. No overnight camping is allowed near the creek so decide to leave early before the fall of darkness. The walk back will be about double the time to go to the source because this time it will climb back to Bowen Ranch. But Deep Creek Hot Springs is certainly the best of its kind in the Southwest.
