Klais Germany You'll be forgiven for not hearing about this small town in Germany. In fact, you will be given to only be able to find minimal information on this district in the municipality of Krn. You can even be forgiven for not knowing that it is located in Upper Bavaria, and is one of the most picturesque places on earth. So where, you wonder this place is that which is difficult to find, and invites you to enjoy a little piece of paradise? The name is Klais and as mentioned, it is a small town in Germany, which until recently was only a name on a map, a destination never to be seen again that people have their road to Mittenwald, most popular destination (and incidentally, famous for his violins).
So what Klais have to offer the visitor? Well, besides the breathtaking scenes (can you imagine waking up in full view of the Karwendel mountains every morning?) Klais also offers you peace and calm that is not to be in one of more resorts, while at the same time, giving you easy access to all these cities have to offer. And if you find that the pleasures of Klais must be combined with that of the larger resorts, you'll see that this is a simple matter of a few hours of travel to get from one place to another.
However, if you are happy loll around in harmony with nature indolent, without the teeming masses of crowds, you will find that Klais has much to offer, including hiking, biking, and yes, skiing. Or if you prefer to be more adventurous, you can always try your luck climbing. The Karwendel mountain range offers many options for someone wishing to do some climbing.
There are also some significant historical finds in the region. You will find the hunting lodge of King Ludwig II, and curiously, you will also find the foundations of a Benedictine monastery which is 1200 years. There are also the remains of a Roman road to see.
Curiously, it was not until the late 20th century Klais started coming to the view of tourists. This is largely due to the fact that until the line of railroad Garmisch-Mittenwald-Innsbruck was built in 1912, was Klais not widely known outside the immediate district. In fact, until things started picking up the city proper of Klais consisted of the post office, a tavern (now the Post Inn), a farm, and the chapel postcard peripheral housing and the landscape.
It is also interesting to note that the Inter City Klais station was the highest station of its kind in Germany to 933 meters, until its abolition in 2007.
With so much to see and do in and around Klais, you will hardly want to go and mix with the masses by many other such resorts. You'll certainly be better served by remaining in Klais for the duration of your vacation and become one with the beautiful countryside around you.
