New Milton is a village situated on the edge of the New Forest and near the sea market is held every Wednesday and offers a rich mixture of various local products from fruit, vegetables, dairy products and meats commonly consumed . It is situated between Bournemouth (12 miles west) and Lymington (8 miles east).

Parish of Milton was recorded as a settlement in the Domesday Book (1086). There are traces of many periods of history around the area including evidence of hunting and fishing and Roman remains of the army of General Vespasian in 43AD. The village has remained relatively low until the arrival of the railroad that led to significant growth in population and industry.

The name is derived from Milton sense Middletune agricultural community. New Milton represents the merger of the villages of Ashley, Barton and Milton. It was named after the arrival of the railway in 1888 and opened a post office. The panel said it installed in New Milton Post Office to differentiate from the existing post office and took the prefix. Old Milton is situated between New Milton and Barton on Sea.

New Milton is an idyllic setting for exploring the south coast of England and has easy access to the New Forest, the newest national park in Britain.

Former royal hunting ground of the New Forest is now a popular tourist destination. Grass and gravel paths crisscross the 65,000 acre National Park and to reveal several other villages to explore. It is an ideal destination to enjoy the native wildlife of Great Britain and especially the deer that British royalty was so fond of.

Because of grazing rights granted Commoner in time of William I, cattle, ponies, horses, pigs and donkeys are allowed to roam freely in the park. It's a great destination for anyone who likes cycling walking or just watching nature in action.

New Milton is easily accessible by road (A35 or A337) and there is a station that connects only to Brockenhurst (located on the main London Waterloo to Poole line). There are many places to stay around New Milton, ranging from five star Chewton Glen to opulence to simple self-catering holiday parks near the sea

A number of guesthouses offering accommodation in bed & breakfasts in the area, either by sea or in a more rural. Prices may vary so check before booking. Most include a hearty full English breakfast includes locally sourced sausages, bacon and sausage.
