Need help planning trip trek through Western Europe?

Here are the cities and places I wantred to see. We have been planning the trip for next summer to about 30 days. We were going to fly from San Diego to Madrid, then from Athens to San Diego ($ 1,000). Buy a month long pass Eurail for $ 800 (youth). We intend to stay at hostels almost all the time. Will we have enough time to see these places in 30 days and actually get to see some of the attractions? Can you also give me a questimate own budget and perhaps some indication of the cool places to stay and see in each city? Maybe help me plan a route?

 Madrid - Palacio Real, the Botanical Garden, Prado Museum, the bull fights
 Paris - The Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame de Paris, Musede du Louvre, Catacombs of Paris
 Dublin - Guinness Storehouse, Dublin Castle, Temple Bar
 Edinburgh - Edinburgh Castle, Old Town, the Palace of Holyrood, Scott Monument, Calton Hill Volcano
 London - Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, Kew Gardens, Tower of London
 Amsterdam - Anne Frank House, Van Gogh Museum, Red Light District
 Berlin - Brandenburg Gate, Berlin Wall, the Jewish Museum, Schloss Charlottenburg, Haus am Checkpoint Charlie Museum
 Innsbruck - Swarovski Crystal Worlds (Crystal Worlds), The Golden Roof, Imperial Palace, Ambras Castle
 Venice - Piazza San Marco, Grand Canal / Canalazzo

 Rome - Teatro Colosseo, The Sistine Chapel, the Colosseum, Piazza Venezia,
 Athens - The market of Plaka, Acropolis, Monastiraki flea,

Thank you!

I think that 11 cities in ten countries in 30 days is stretching it a little.

You really are too ambitious with your plan.

Spend more time at stations and on board the train.

I suggest you narrow your choice to really be able to enjoy the culture, history, architecture and beauty of each place.

You want a little less than three days at each location. I think you can rotate, but you will not be able to see everything you want. Much of your time will be spent queuing for tickets and the queues to enter the attractions - especially during the mad rush of the tourist season.

Some of the things listed here can be done quickly - your destinations in Amsterdam can be done in a single day if you move quickly. You might need three days to review all sites in Athens though. A lot of research on each city, look at the cards and know the distance between sites. Some places can be easily traveled on foot, while in others, you will need public transportation or taxis to get between the two. Make sure when you book hotels as you always get a hotel is near the site you most want to visit or near the train station to your next departure. You do not want to waste time in the city just to come and go at your hotel.

I suggest you try to go in spring or summer, if possible - everything is cheaper and you will not be fighting against the crowds all the time.

Try to get on night trains between some of your destinations. You'll save on hotel costs and save time if you can sleep as you speed to the next town.

Bon voyage!
