Illinois Camping

I would like to go camping at a campsite legitimate. No one has swimming pools or tennis courts. I do not want to be near others who are also camping. Does anyone know of a place worth it?

In fact, when I was a kid living in Illinois we were still in Missouri and Wisconsin to camp. ;)

I do not like sites that are overdeveloped, or ... therefore tend to avoid private parks. Have you checked into the system in Illinois State Parks? Look at the list of sites - they indicate which parks are running toilet water from the pit vs, which the parks are always at full capacity. Nice type they do.

What about my backyard in Terre Haute, IN? (Just kidding) Seriously though the primitive state park camping areas are very nice in the fall (October-November). At least they are in the south-west. Not many people around and beautiful foliage.
