Any good suggestions for a weekend in Newcastle Upon Tyne? Our football team are traveling from Belfast to Newcastle for the FA Cup weekend for our trip later this year. Having been there once for a stag Partywhich I did not settle, I know this is a cracking city with nice people, but I'm looking for some suggestions on how to entertain 20 boys. I need
1. Something to kill a few hours before we could check into our hotel on Friday morning ... something like bowling or karting or that sort of thing, that we arrive in Newcastle at 9am, but can not get up to 14 hours. We hope to play a friendly match there on Friday night, do not people go to the bar first thing.
2. A decent place to watch football. We stay at Jesmond.
3. A good "cheap" bar for drinks at the beginning, promos etc.
4. A good club will not have a huge problem to let 20 guys together. (We are all well behaved, but I know many may put off doormen, I was one)
5. Lapdancers.
6. If anyone knows of a decent society that we hire a minibus and bus driver for the weekend at a reasonable price that would be a bonus, but obviously just a bonus, not essential.
Folks good suggestions would be appreciated.
Okay, I live near Newcastle, I'll help as much as I can.
1. Bowling is good, and there are some bowling if I'm not sure what time they open. The MetroCentre could be a good place to kill some time. They had a bowling alley, but the yellow section where it used to be closed for refurbishment and I doubt that the film would show anything that early in the day, but you can give it a go.
2. There are lots of places to watch football - Shearers Bar at St James Park is one of the most beautiful to watch the game. You can also try the bar in the Gateway complex.
3. Loads of cheap bars - try the local whetherspoons - The Union Rooms close to Central Station. Also try the lounge and bar Long who both "turn the wheel" type deals where you choose your offer with a push of a button.
4. Newcastle has the best clubs in the region - Blu Bambu is my favorite, followed closely by fungi, the Revolution and the mood in the door. But of course there are many more choices, most are located in and around the Bigg Market in the middle of Newcastle.
5. I think there's a decent place called Blue Velvet strip at Newcastle, but unfortunately I do not know where he is or other details.
6. There are few who come to search engine Yahoo, which one is 24-7 Minibus Hire, to give them a try.
Hope some of this helps, and have a good time at one of the best cities in the world for a party!
Yeah, do not go
1. There is a bowling alley a few semi-decent out of downtown on the way to Westgate. If you hail a taxi from Central Station, it will cost about £ 4.00. Semi-decent, as I said, but it's fun and you can get a beer while you play! As Karting, there is a track at Gateshead, near the metro center, but you must book in advance and to be honest is not that good!
2. If you're staying in Jesmond they have loads of door to door bars where birds flock adjustment only hundreds, but a watering hole The wicked Lonsdale, just by the West Jesmond Metro, it has good price , massive big screens for the footy and good food!
3. Good bars are everywhere, but good bars 'cheap' are hard to find. Newcastle 3 Wetherspoons in its downtown, always a good place for a drink cheaply. Just out of Central Station are the rooms of the Union, which is a Wetherspoons, there is the dock, another Wetherspoons with a massive beer garden and into the door there is a Wetherspoons Lloyds No 1. There are some other reasonably cheap bars like Yates' Wine Lodge does.
