Bangaluru, the garden city formerly known as Bangalore is the capital of Karnataka. The city was founded in the 16th century and has witnessed great southern dynasties. Currently there is a booming metropolis located about 1000 meters above sea level. This city has a salubrious climate with moderate temperatures throughout the year. It is well connected by air, rail and road transport in major cities of India. It has direct international connections to major cities in the world. It is a clean and spacious city of imposing monuments and modern structures. The city is renowned institutions like Indian Institute of Science, Raman Research Institute, National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences, National Aerospace Laboratories and etc. There are high-tech industries such as aerospace, electronics and computer software, etc. Apart from these the city has a rich cultural heritage and traditions. There are famous schools of art, classical music and dance. Bangalore has beautiful parks, gardens and tourist attractions. Bangalore has some beautiful temples and ancient India as the temple Venkataramanaswamy, a 300 year old temple and the temple Gangadhareswara Gavi, an unusual cave temple. This city is known by several names depending on the success of the industry such as "Silicon Valley of India", "Fashion Capital of India" and "The Pub City of India", etc. Last but not least, Bangalore is even gaining the status of the "Floriculture Capital" due to export of flowers from the city. It has rich stone resources, then known as "Stone City" as well for deposits of granite. It is the fifth largest city in India and the fastest growing city in Asia. Bangaluru visits The Bangalore Palace and Fort: The Bangalore Fort was built by Kempe Gowda, a Wodeyar king in 1887 on the 400 acres which was expanded by Tippu Sultan. It is well preserved 16th century Ganapathi Temple in the fort. The Bangalore Palace was inspired by Windsor Castle and equipped with Gothic windows, foiled windows, battlements and turrets resembling the Daria Daulat Palace in Srirangapatanam. This summer palace was built mainly of wood and is famous for its outdoor sculptures representing Lord Krishna playing the flute and paintings of viceroys, kings and other famous personalities with historical photos. Lal Bagh: Hyder Ali laid the famous botanical garden and an orchard of berries. Later, his son Tippu Sultan added to the glory by introducing exotic trees and horticultural wealth by importing trees and plants from several countries. Currently the garden has more than 1000 species of flora including rare collection of tropical plants, trees and herbs. The Glass House, modeled as Crystal Palace in London, is the center of attraction. There are bi-annual flower show held at the Maison de Verre, which draws participants from all over India. Cubbon Park: This park is well equipped with green lawns, shady trees and bright flowers. It is ideal for joggers and walkers of nature. It was established by Lord Cubbon in 1864 on 300 acres of land. This beautiful park is located in the cantonment. Newer buildings, such as fountains of fairies, a bandstand and August a crowd of atatury have added beauty to the park. It is the State Central Library's treasures of rare books. The elegant architectural style and includes fluted pillars, the High Court, the Cheshire Dyer Memorial Hall, Ottawa Chatter, Museum, Century Club and the Press Club. Vidhana Soudha: An imposing 46 meter high monument of granite Bangalore is the State Legislature and Secretariat building erected in 1956. This is a splendid neo-Dravidian near granite building in Cubbon Park.
