Late Availability Hotel Rooms

I am an international student from Serbia, coming in Thibodaux, LA this fall to attend Nicholls State University. I intend to arrive in late July, but on-campus housing is not available until mid-August. Can anyone give me information on available housing in Thibodaux, other than hotels? Ie room rental, trailers ... Something useful is very much appreciated:))

Normally, one can find rooms on www.craigslist.com etc. but I was surprised not to have a chance to find in all cities Louisiana Thibodaux available.

I went searching and found that Thibodaux has a local newspaper online www.dailycomet.com called.

If you click on the Market Square, down, find the real estate and typing in the block of Thibodaux / square to perform a wildcard search will result in more ads.

If I were you who have traveled abroad before, I recommend you to seriously accommodation in hotel / motel and future planning like a week or a few days earlier, well before classes begin beak you should never commit to anything you can not see for myself with your own eyes, the more distance on campus and access to public transportation and grocery / retail stores could certainly be useful to a few dollars more to save you TimeWise etc.
