Buy, watch or Pass - Week 6

QB

Kyle Boller, Baltimore Ravens pass yds, 226 TD 3 INT, 1

Kyle Boller took the starting job for 3 years before the Ravens had seen enough. They brought in Steve McNair suffered the injury and thought they had solved all their problems shift. Unfortunately, McNair does not meet expectations and was injured (again) loss to the Panthers last week. Boller came in and played well, but two of his passes TD 3 were the product of luck over skills. They are down from peak happens in the air that ends up in the hands of Mark Clayton. Boller has shown flashes of talent in the past, but is too inconsistent. The Ravens have a week off and await the next McNair to return the following week. Do not buy into this performance. PASS

Philip Rivers San Diego Chargers yds passing 344, 2 TD

Before people on my back of my "PASS" to last week, please note that just went up and shredded a defense very mediocre 49ers. Do I think Rivers is a good QB? Absolutely. Is there a starting QB FANTASY? I will still say no. If you look at the rest of his schedule, he will face some difficult passes defenses, while the run defense, he will play during this time are quite low. The racing game will rule supreme over this sequence. Surely you can not look beyond his last 2 performances, but I can not recommend it at this stage as described above. However, do keep an eye on him. WATCH

Chad Pennington, NY Jets 175 m. pass, 2 TD

Pennington has been a mixed bag so far this year. Against the Dolphins, Pennington has shown the good side of him, throwing for 175 yards, 2 TD and no INT. Although it had nothing to write home about, it was still a good performance anything less of, from the court after 71, 0 TD, 3 INT performance against the Jaguars last week. Looking at the rest of his schedule, he has very good mix of games with really bad. It is difficult to recommend Pennington as a frontline starter, but he is definatley worthy of a spot file. Buy, but choose your games.

Matt Leinart, Arizona Cardinals yds passing 232, 2 TD

While Arizona has no excuse to lose this match on Monday, you can not blame Matt Leinart, who had another solid release by throwing for 232 yards and 2 TD. Although I think highly of Leinart, there are things to worry about. The first is out of his offensive line is horrible. This will lead to a good number of bags, which could lead to more turnovers (eg Look what happened Monday). Second, he threw all his touchdowns in the first quarter, which leads me to believe it is a difficult time making changes after the defense fits him. Would it be a personal problem? Well, Dennis Green fired his offensive coordinator after the game and replaced him with Mike Kruczek, coach watch, who said he had a close personal relationship with Leinart. We'll see if things change, but Leinart has some killer games on the road with some big guns. Despite concerns, this guy has a great talent. Do not miss! BUY

Alex Smith, San Francisco 49ers 214 yds passing, 2 TD, 1 INT

I noted last week that if you threw out the game against Kansas City, Alex Smith has been very productive time. He has a difficult stretch ahead, starting with last week against San Diego. To my surprise, Smith has played very smart, turning the ball over once while throwing 2 TD. In fact, the whole offense did well in the first half. If it were not for a very poor defensive effort, they could have won this game. In any case, Smith is growing. He has 8 TD vs. 4 INT's, and played well against a tough D. San Diego I can not recommend him 2 games (Chicago and Minnesota), but after that it can reach the top Fantasy QB levels.
