Between 1150 and more than 2,000 meters above sea level, Alpe d'Huez owes part of its fame to the 21 turns of the road leading to the station, which provide the framework for the most difficult stage in the Tour de France every two years. It is located a few miles from Grenoble in the department of Isere. You can easily get to Grenoble via low-cost airlines like Ryanair and Easy Jet.
