MarketplaceRent In Tuscany ItalyPosted on January 8, 2011. Traveling in Italy: Tuscany or Milan fly on New Year's Eve? We take a trip two weeks to celebrate our anniversary in December and have two flight options when we arrive in Italy (from Paris) on the eve of New Year ....
1. Fly to Milan, about noon. Rent a car in Milan and Bologna player. (3 hours)
2. Fly to Tuscany (Pisa Airport) to 18 hours. Car Rental and lead either to Siena, Florence, or somewhere in the countryside.
We have never been to Italy and we are not talking Italian. It is feared that the arrival a little later on the eve of the new year could be difficult to navigate our way. For example: perhaps things close early ....?
In terms of general ease and fun New Year's Eve .... Can anyone recommend option 1 or 2 .............. and why? Well, it's a shame that the flights are not in the other direction ... Pisa and Milano noon to 18 pm on the choice would be Defo Pisa.
I've been to both places and I can tell you that the volume of traffic on the highway near Milano is horrible! They call it the rat race and is definitley not for the timid. Is it definitley Milano Malpensa airport and Milan Bergamo does not? because if it was Bergamo, this is not so bad that it's not so busy. If you chose the option Milano, 3 hours on New Year's Eve is not enough time 4-5 hours bank to be sure. Milano incidentally, is a nightmare to drive and very difficult to find hotels, even with a map! So try to avoid staying there. It is also not the most beautiful places to visit in Italy, unless you are a real fashion guru.
Pisa is much easier and I must say that the best option. it is easily accessible and quiet a lot, but it's a shame he is so fine that you do not have much time to arrive before midnight and get the car to Florence to be relaxed in time to midnight which is a shame because Florence is beautiful region of Tuscany is just beautiful.
I guess what you decide, I must say be sure to check the car rental offices are open until the last flight arrives (Bergamo and Pisa airports are very small and could be a problem) Also, make sure you absolutley accommodation booked and at least a reservation for dinner or you could end up feeling like you've lost your New Year's Eve. What about flying to and staying in Pisa, even for only one or two nights for New Year and then go to Florence?
Or ... and it would preferably MON ... Venezia! His wonderful New Year!
Wherever you go, I can assure you Italy is a wonderful place to go and you'll have a good holiday whatsoever.
Happy Holidays! Hello, I lived in Italy, and I know very well, it depends on you, you make your choice to decide what to see and what to do ... My advice is to fly to Tuscany because it is so wonderful, but if you love driving and traveling around the North and Middle Italy, you can fly to Milan to rent a car and drive across the country and Tuscany Florence Milan but I think 4.30h 5h wonderful landscape and the New Year's Eve there is not much traffic, I reached on an email response feel free to contact me if you want more information, I will be happy to help more. I stay near Florence ... Tuscany is very beautiful ...! I was in Italy and all the places you mentioned. My personal opinion is to fly to Tuscany. Almost everyone in the Greater will speak enough English to get around. The road will be more picturesque Tuscany and relaxed, but if you're interested in more than one party / urban feel to the road to Milan.
Of all the places I visited while in Italy, Florence was the best ... near Venice! So, yes ... My vote goes to the road Tuscany ... much more romantic! I'm from Italy, Ilive.
