MarketplaceRocky Mountain Lodge And CabinsPosted on November 18, 2010. What is the best place for vacation for hiking in the Rockies?
I'm planning a summer trip out west hiking in the Rockies (for a couple with boys aged 4 and 7). I spent a day in Rocky Mountain National Park (Colorado) ten years ago and it was just incredible. Beyond words - but that day has been my only experience in the West. RMNP is the best place to spend a week in the mountains? Other suggestions for places where it is relatively easy hike? We will be active with 4 and 7 years who "walked" in New Hampshire this summer. For an incredible experience hiking in the West consider Utah! You can do it on national parks like Zion, Bryce and the north edge of Grand Canyon and Canyonlands and Capitol Reef to and end with hikes in Alta. It is a very diverse set of hiking boys will never forget. Get on the web and just look at Bryce and Zion National Parks - the photos do not do them justice. After the hike you can do a river rafting trip great Colorado outside Moab, Utah. Not too hard = almost perfect for young children. Check it out. My boys loved it when they were little and still love, now they are in their twenties! I'm glad you're not limited to cuz Colorado Rockies are in Canada which, believe me, type it into yahoo or google. Glacier National Park has a number of major routes that you can do as a family. The new shuttle system keeps you even need a car to drive every day from trail head to one of the hotels and lodges (or campgrounds). I can tell you what some cities in the Rockies are as follows: If you want landscapes that will take your breath and go hiking in Montana. Fly to Kalispell and rent a car and go to Glacier Park. Hotel Glacier East Glacier Mini is beautiful! There is stuff for kids too. Book ... Check Boulder. It is a pretty town right on the edge of the Rockies. Nearby areas of hiking, climbing, raftng, and much more. It is also a pleasant town to go and visit with many restauraunts, shops and other places outright. Boulder is almost like its own little country haha. Go to Colorado Springs. Near many mountain trails around Pikes Peak. Much less expensive than other parts of Colorado. Beautiful scenery.
