Road trip tips; Oregon Coast in San Diego?

My partner and I are planning a road trip (approx. 2 weeks), Portland, San Diego. We want to enjoy the coast all the way, and have solid plans to stop in to Arcata and Santa Cruz. What I want to know is other places to stop along the road. We do this on a budget, so if anyone knows great hostels, campsites, motels sleep, eat cheap, attractions, etc., that's what I ask. Other than that I know of any rental car that can travel state, preferably those with a fleet of gas at low (hybrid or biofuels). Thank you!

Do you take 101? The sight of the car is priceless.

You can not miss the redwoods on the border of two states.

Ecola State Park Cannon Beach between Sea and offers stunning views, the last time I heard that admission was 4.00.

There are the sea lion caves, near Florence.

Lighthouses, sand dunes, whale watching, kite flying and a million parks.

You should not have any problem finding campgrounds along the 101 unless you are directly west of Portland on the weekend. There are plenty of cheap motels that are not gross or scary along the coast, but do not advertise on the Internet.

Many seafood places like Mo.

2 places to visit are Eugene and Sacramento.

Eugene, Oregon: It is the responsibility of cool cinemas, parks, art museums and museums of cultural history, as the Knight Library (the largest in Oregon), also the National Commission of Oregon Country Fair is great if you go at the right time. Eugene is also known for his jazz and rock. Willamette National Forest is huge and has great braid and there are ski resorts nearby. People are really nice and great restaurants and shops.

Sacramento, California: It is the capital of California, has been in the top 5 places to live in America in 2007. It is still burning. Loads of tourist sites, fresh lakes and many places to visit.

Hope this helps!

I would say Monterrey CA. CA and Big Sur. and Pismo Beach CA. these are wonderful places. Big Sur has few trees and giant sequoias Monterrey has a great aquarium.

This site could have hotels on it.
