Ski Rider Resort

Posted on December 14, 2010.
Newbie, any suggestions for beginners?

I've never been snowboarding, and I need a good winter activity that I do not get cabin fever ...

I want a good beginner board, can someone tell me some good brands / types / things to look for when buying a beginner snowboard? I seriously do not want to end up with crap from Wal-Mart special ... I want one I do get sick of it right away, too. (I think like a beginner motorcycle rider purchase of 250 rebels, you're going to grow so fast)

I intend to take lessons at the local ski resort because they have lessons for beginners ...

Any advice would be appreciated, thank you ...

Snowboarding is so fun, you'll love it! Nitro is a good brand of boards and less expensive than Burton (the best known brand). If you get last years model, it will be much cheaper, but it will always be a board that will be good for you for several seasons. I have listed some sites below where you can buy them online.

Good brands of cards are Nitro, Burton, Ride, Libtech, Gnu.

One thing you should know is what type of riding you plan to do? Are you planning to do tricks in the park, or riding the pipe? If yes, then you need a Freestyle board. They are more flexible. If you just want to cruise down the mountain, you want a freeride board. They tend to be stiffer than a freestyle board.

I strongly recommend you wear a helmet, knee pads (under your pants) and wrist guards. head injuries and broken wrists are the most frequent injuries in snowboarding. Also a broken tail bone is common to impact shorts are a good idea. It also helps if you can go on a powder day when you fall right way it will not be as bad. Do not go on a cold day the first time or you'll be pretty beat.

And be prepared to not like it much the first time. Do not give up, you can skip the initial phase of learning, then it gets better very quickly.

Ok the first thing you need to get sorted before boarding is your boots. Your boots are your most important pieces of his kit vital they fit well otherwise you will be riding in them a nightmare. The best thing you can do is go to the store nearest you snowboarding which sells a wide range of boots and try on a selection of different brands and go with the boots that feel most comfee and answer your feet the best. Generally brands like Thirty two people meet and Vans feet wide and Northwave, Salomon and Rome are better for people thinner feet.
As for your advice i recommend you go for an entry level All mountain board these boards are ideal for runners begineer that can be used for all types of freestyle, freeriding and powder. Some tips you should check are
Gnu Carbon High Beam
Nitro Revolt
Forum Recon
K2 Select
Burton Clash
All of these tips are entry level so they are easy to learn the basics on but they are also progressive enough to last you a while. You have reason to avoid Wal Mart stuff, if you buy a good snowboard shop you can be sure the brands sold there will be better quality. Hope this helps, good luck.

There are many sites out there with recommendations for beginners, and most will say to start with a versatile card (freestyle) as opposed to a steeper (freeride)

If this fails, try slipping. Just as fun, and less broken legs! (Lol)

I borrowed board 'brothers' friends of time I went. It was great! ... Until I hit the one itsy, bitsy tree on a hill very broad. His brother was cute, it was embarrassing, so good luck!

What happened to ski.? Are Polish.?
